When I tried soaking some clothes overnight the urine seemed to go rancid and began to stink. It took two washings to undo that. So conclusion is you can only use fresh urine effectively.

Yes, it did clean the clothes.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09307303784669188054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12283119.post-1126274457783782052005-09-09T17:00:00.001+03:002005-09-09T17:00:00.001+03:00there is a parallel with alum making in NE England...there is a parallel with alum making in NE England (where i live) It was discovered in the middle ages that if locally mined alum shale was boiled for a long time in a solution made up of water and human urine, a liquor could be produced that 'fixed' dyestuffs into material. Problem was that there were not enough people living in the Teesside area then (it was still mainly moorland) and so the first sea tankers came about, bringing bulk wee from London to the mouth of the River Tees. Apparently the Londoners who donated their wee were paid for this. I gather the proces stunk to high heaven, and thankfully thise industry died out in the 1800'sAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12283119.post-1126274417227631192005-09-09T17:00:00.000+03:002005-09-09T17:00:00.000+03:00there is a parallel with alum making in NE England...there is a parallel with alum making in NE England (where i live) It was discovered in the middle ages that if locally mined alum shale was boiled for a long time in a solution made up of water and human urine, a liquor could be produced that 'fixed' dyestuffs into material.
